![]() About Kohler Co.Hospitality Group
It takes one visit to Whistling Straits® to recognize that Kohler Co. thinks big. This beautiful stretch of 164 acres on Lake Michigan was formerly a military training facility with leaking underground fuel tanks and abandoned landfills. Kohler Co. reclaimed the land and transformed it into a pristine world-class golf course. In the process, we also preserved several acres of wetlands endangered by erosion of the lake’s shoreline and created an additional 21 acres of wetlands at the site. River Wildlife, a 500-acre wildlife sanctuary in Kohler, was established to prevent commercial development along seven beautiful miles of the Sheboygan River. In 1989, the company also purchased the Eagle Valley Nature Preserve along the Mississippi River in southwestern Wisconsin to prevent logging and development on this prime wintering habitat for bald eagles.
